Stop asking tarot the same questions!

“This next cycle is about your career goals.”

I leaned in closer, peering at the cards.

“Okay… is my boyfriend going to call me back?”

Immediate sigh.

When I first started reading for other people, this was one of the first things I noticed. Somehow, it always came back to relationships.

Does he love me? Is he cheating? Will he come back? Will he call?

Then there’s asking the same question for the seventh time, hoping that perhaps this time a different answer will emerge. More often than not, I think sometimes we’re just asking the wrong questions.

Does he? Will he? When will I?

Notice where the power sits in each of them.

Instead of Does he love me?

What am I actually being offered here?

One kind of question asks for access while another asks it to illuminate a path.

Instead of Will I get the job?

Is this opportunity right for me? What aren’t I seeing?

Or my favourite:

What are my options?

Maybe that’s where Tarot is most useful. Not telling us what to do, but showing us what we couldn’t see from where we were standing. Tarot should expand your field of vision, not shrink it. You should leave the sitting with a Birds Eye view.

If you asked the same question ten times and are still unsatisfied, perhaps you weren’t looking for an answer.

Perhaps you were looking for another option.
